Reason for Policy This policy authorizes each member to allocate up to 1% of the construction cost for the acquisition of art. Procedures and Responsibilities It is the intention of the Board of Regents that a maximum of one percent (1%) of the construction cost of each new building construction project exceeding $1,000,000 may be allocated for the acquisition of works of art and other aesthetic improvements. The works of art shall be located at or near the site of the construction project. The acquisition of the works of art shall be in accordance with the member’s art acquisition standards and shall be approved by the member CEO. The appropriation and expenditure of funds shall be made on a case-by-case basis by the member and shall be in accordance with the applicable system policies and regulations.
