The time for action is now.
The twenty students and fh·e faculty members
organhed last Wednesday's Open Forum on the Conduet Code have 1tarted out in the right direction. It ia
their duty and our responsibility ro follow through.
Violence, of course, is not the aru~wer. It wollld only
reinforce the Board of Regenta belief In our immaturity.
But that does not rule out protest, peaceful protcsL
It doea not rule out another open forum thill week. It
does not rule out petitions. It d~s not rule out letter~~ to
the legislature aa weU as the Board of Regents. 1t doea
· rule out testi~ the validity and constitutionality of the
Conduct Code.
The Code is going to be looked at legally but It la
