Application for Alumni Support
The UW-SP Alumni Office and Board of Directors invite you to apply for
consideration for support dollars for your community/non profit event.
Support dollars are made available through private donations and program
revenue and do not include tax dollars. Your application is reviewed by a
committee of alumni that is charged with distributing funds to as many
organizations as possible to encourage collaboration between the UWSP
Alumni Association and the Stevens Point community. Given the great
number of requests we receive, competition for dollars is intense and we
thank you for understanding that we are able to fund a limited number of
projects.
In applying for support from the Alumni association, we ask that you
describe your event and explain its relatedness to the UWSP mission. Help
us understand how the event involves UWSP Alumni and what the diversity
and size of the audience is for your event. Describe how Alumni
Association support will be used to foster positive outcomes for your
organization. You may want to provide a scholarship to your event; you may
request Alumni Association dollars to help reach this goal.
Our goal is to support community involvement and foster the continued
educational and non profit activities of our alumni and friends. Support per
event cannot exceed $1,000 and reapplication each year is required. The
average donation is anticipated in the range of $100 - $200.
The UWSP Alumni Association will support requests for specific events
related to alumni. Funding requests for endowments and general fund raising
will not be granted.
In so much as the UW System already has policies in place regarding faculty
and staff retirements, the UWSP Alumni Association will deny funding
request for additional support for faculty and staff retirements and other
milestones. Special exceptions may be considered by the UW-SP Alumni
Office and Board of Directors.
