Through our Central Stores, Maintenance, Surplus, Recycling, Heating Plant, Grounds, Custodial, Mail Services, Auto Shop, and Transportation departments, Facility Services strives to provide outstanding support for the students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. How to Submit a Work Order If you need any of the services we provide, please submit a work order using the following steps: 1 3 Go to our website at http:// www.uwsp.edu/facsv/Pages/ default.aspx. On the left hand side, click on “Submit a Work Order.” Now, on the left side of the screen, click on “Submit a Request” and fill out the form. It’s that easy! 2 Next, select where the work order will be performed. We handle Academic and Administrative buildings, so you will select “Facility Services Requests.” Common Work Orders: 1) Light bulb burns out 2) Issues with toilets or sinks 3) Needing something hung on the wall of an office space 4) Broken desks or chairs in classrooms 5) Indoor climate (too hot or cold) If you have any questions, please call us at 715-346-4219 or email us at Facilities.Services.Office@uwsp.edu Departments Facility Services: Advancing the academic mission through craftsmanship, artistry, and exceptional service Maintenance The Maintenance Department of Facility Services consists of skilled professionals with diverse expertise able to accomplish a wide array of custom renovations and remodels, general building maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance. The staff consists of 4 electricians, 2 carpenters, 2 painters, 1 plumber, 2 locksmiths, 3 HVAC, and several maintenance specialists. They are available from 7am to 11pm Monday through Friday. We specialize in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, glazing, locksmithing, fabrication, machine repair, and general building repair. We support the UWSP campus to meet the changing needs of today’s academic environment. Below are examples of some recent renovations! Grounds The Grounds Services team maintains all UWSP campus landscapes with more than 110 years of history and memories for generations of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. We are responsible for developing and maintaining aesthetically pleasing and safe campus grounds with an emphasis on diverse flora to create a park-like setting. Grounds Services maintains 104 acres of turf and annual/perennial beds, 12 miles of sidewalk, and 28 acres of parking lots. Together, our services include snow/ice removal, lawn care, weed control, irrigation, athletic fields, flower and mulch beds, arborist, and sidewalk maintenance. Academic Custodial provides cleaning on a scheduled basis to all generally funded university academic and administrative buildings. Cleaning Schedule: Departmental Offices -daily removal of trash & recycling -vacuum once a week; spot vacuuming as needed Faculty Offices -removal of trash/recycling/vacuuming once a week Restrooms -once daily cleaning w/emphasis on germ spread prevention Classrooms -boards cleaned daily -trash/recycling daily -floors cleaned as needed The Academic Custodial staff is highly skilled and receives regular safety training on equipment, floor care, and blood borne pathogens. They also use the latest green cleaning techniques. IN FACT, they are Greengaurd Certified! Recycling We are devoted to providing services that not only help UWSP students and faculty, but also are kind to the environment. Our Recycling Department includes an on-site recycling facility and composting area. We collect food waste from across campus and compost it to create our very own top soil that we use on the University’s grounds. UWSP students are very environmentally conscious, and we are happy to help! The Recycling Department of Facility Services also has a pick-up program. If you have large items in your office that you want to get rid of, give us a call! We will come pick it up and find a way to recycle it. Surplus Property Office We are a collection of nice, gently-used campus property available for sale to students, faculty, and the general public. Our goal is to help UWSP stay environmentally and fiscally responsible. We sell anything ranging from vacuums to TVs and from copy machines to couches! There is a little bit of everything here!
