(2012) Hypergraphic Press Course Summary and Learning Objectives MGT 314 is directed toward understanding people at work from a psychological perspective. It is not necessary for you to have any prior coursework in psychology. I am an industrial /organizational psychologist by education, and I am the author of the book. The primary learning objectives is to understand the psychology of workplace behavior. Course Structure The primary method of instruction is lecture. My lectures are not “straight from the book” but are animated with case examples from my 40-year career. Grading Your grade will be based on three examinations, equally weighted. Exam # 1 covers Chapters, 1, 2, and 3. Exam #2 covers Chapters 4 and 5 and Exam # 3 covers Chapters 8 and 14. Examinations will be in essay format. Tentative exam dates are September 24, November 5, and Finals Week. Attendance I will take attendance for the first three classes to establish the roll. I will not take attendance again. However, I expect you to attend class every day. The examinations will cover material presented in class that is not covered in the book. If you believe that employment or personal obligations will prevent your full attendance, I encourage you to drop the class.
