Pedestrian hit; CyRide driver is cited
A CyRide bus driver was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian after allegedly
hitting an ISU student Wednesday.
ISU police said Catherine Peloquin of Waterloo was hit at Union Drive and
Bissell Road by Pamela Leitz. Peloquin suffered minor injuries.
It wasn't the first bus-student collision on ISU campus. Robert Stupka, 21, died
Nov. 30, 2005, after he was hit by a Midwest Coaches bus while crossing
Pammel Drive. His death was part of the reason campus leaders conducted a
review of pedestrian safety and crosswalks on campus.
