IRS INCOME TAX TRANSCRIPT REQUEST PROCESS
Tax filers can request a transcript, free of charge, of their 2014 tax return from the IRS. This process is the
same for the parent/student or the student/spouse.
Online Request
• Available on the IRS Web site at www.irs.gov
• In the Tools section of the homepage click “Get a Tax Transcript by Mail.”
• Click “Get Transcript by MAIL,” then click OK.
• Enter your Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax ID Number (ITIN).
• Enter your Date of Birth.
• Enter your Street Address and Zip or Postal Code, as it’s listed on your Tax Return,
then click CONTINUE.
• Select “RETURN TRANSCRIPT” under Type of Transcript, then select the correct tax year.
• The transcript will be sent to the address they have on file for you.
Please allow 5-10 days to receive it.
