During the program, students from system colleges and ACCS Chancellor, Dr. Mark Heinrich, provided comments addressing the critical role of Alabama’s community colleges in the state’s workforce and economic development initiatives. In addition to the program’s speakers, the event highlighted various college programs directly related to workforce development. Exhibits showcased work in welding, healthcare, 3-D imaging, robotics, and culinary arts. Angelia Stanton, Class President for Shelton State Respiratory Therapy, attended ACCS Day for the first time. “This event allowed the best opportunity for exposure to the vast number of community colleges and their programs without having to travel any farther than just a few steps,” said Stanton. “The booths were impressive and informative.” Stanton, on track to graduate in December, looks forward to attending next year’s event.
