CIS146 is a computer
literacy course taken
by most students
entering college. A
sampling of the
course sections were
selected to determine
the assessment
results. This
information was used
to revise and improve
course instruction.

Assessment Results
Explain how results
were used to
improve student
learning,
curriculum, or
program.
Cultural Diversity:
Students will
demonstrate a
broader knowledge of
the world as a result
of their coursework
at the college.
1/12/2012
Students will apply
economic terms and
concepts to identify
global and cultural
socioeconomic
differences.
The use of 6 standard
questions on the
ECO231 posttest
which address
awareness of
generally recognized
economic principles
and current economic
events
70% of students will
answer at least 67%
of the selected
questions correctly.
52.22% of students
answered at least
67% of the selected
questions correctly.
Results of the
posttest for this
measure were less
than our metric of
70%. These results,
for individual
students and
sections, were
disseminated to all
ECO231 faculty at the
end of each semester.
This information was
used to revise and
improve course
instruction. The
results of this metric
dropped from 64.86%
to 52.22%.
