For Chapter 2, please answer Problem 2.8. Part (f) of this problem is optional but could be rewarding to
explore if you have time and interest.
For Chapter 3, please answer Problems 3.1, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.8, 3.10, and 3.11.
For Problem 3.10, you can access the Ouyang-Swinney experimental paper from the link
www.phy.duke.edu/~hsg/313/protected/. As part of your answer to Problem 3.10, discuss whether or
not Ouyang and Swinney’s claim that they have observed a spatiotemporal chaotic state is reasonable.
