Swing 8th notes are written exactly like normal eighths, but the composer indicates his intention for you "swing" them by using the terms, "Swing, Shuffle, or Swung", and sometimes "Bounce".
The way swing 8th notes are written does not accurately reflect how they devide a beat. Normaly 8th notes devide the beat in 2, but swing 8th notes devide the beat in 3. The attacks of swing 8th notes to be interpreted like broken triplets or a measure of 6/8 with the counts 1,3,4,6. You could say "donkey, donkey" to get a feel for the rhythm.
After you master the attacks of continuous swing 8th notes, the Number, or first partial of each group of eight notes should be lengthened as follows. 3
