March 12 is International CM Day
Global Recognition of the Construction Management Profession
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA - MARCH 9, 2012 -International Construction Management (ICM)
Day, March 12, 2012 is a day of recognition and celebration for the thousands of
professional construction managers around the world who dedicate themselves to the
successful and safe completion of complex programs and projects.
Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) along side other
international organizations have come together to promote the profession in the world-wide
market.
"I am very proud to see the acceptance that the CM profession has achieved from industry,
government and individuals," says Bruce D'Agostino, President & CEO of CMAA. The
profession has helped more and more projects to be delivered on time and on
budget. American CM professionals are currently leading projects and programs from
the Olympic stadium in London, to the extensive projects in the Middle East and Dubai to
the Panama Canal, CM professionals are providing leadership on complex projects around
the world. "CMAA and its members have created a global connection that has allowed the
sharing of knowledge and best practices with professionals around the world."
The profession celebrates ICM Day every second Monday of March. Last year, United
States President Barack Obama recognized CM professionals with a letter where the
President remarked, "For America to win the future, we need to out-innovate, out-educate,
and out-build the rest of the world...By working to bring excellence to the construction
community, organizations like the Construction Management Association of America are
helping improve the design and delivery of countless projects. Their efforts help shape a
brighter future for our Nation."
