How to Become a CMIT: Eligibility Requirements: The Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) Program is offered by the Construction Management Association of America to help young professionals launch and develop a successful career in the Construction Management industry. • Submit an online application To qualify for CMIT, an applicant must meet one of the following criteria relative to education and experience: The CMIT designation, which demonstrates competence in the practice of Construction Management early in an individual’s career, is an invaluable tool for professional development. CMIT is for: • Soon-to-be and recent graduates of accredited Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management degree programs • Working graduate-degree candidates • Early career individuals focused on pursing the CCM credential by connecting with a CCM • Meet one of the eligibility requirements (shown right) • Complete the online Capstone Self-Study (The History of Construction Management Practices and Procedures) • Score at least 80% on the self-administered multiple choice test • Connect with a CCM Mentor “The CMIT program really laid the foundation for success in pursuing my CCM.
