Before confronting the employee, I need to know: A) Is it an education issue? B) Is it a disciplinary issue? C) Are there any obstacles in the organization preventing good performance? (Low staffing, unclear expectations or competing priorities) D) Does he/she know what is required? Am I ready to speak about the problem without blaming and accusing?
