and prints. Our next hostess is an
active member of the Cleveland
arts community. Her collection
features works by prominent
African American artists as well
as textiles from her world travels
and a rug of her own design. TAA
members only. Free; reservations
required.
Michael Radyk is an artist and designer of woven textiles that have
been exhibited nationally and
internationally. He is the assistant
professor of textiles and head of
the crafts area at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Michael’s
recent series, Corduroys, Migrations, and Featherworks, explores
the combining of woven structures, forms, and materials that
embody concepts developed in a
series of Jacquard textiles. After
removal from the loom, these
textiles are cut and manipulated,
bringing the artist’s hand into
an industrial textile. Free to TAA
members and students; $5 at the
door for nonmembers.
