Chancellor Candidate Jeff L. Pittman, Ph.D. Jeff. L. Pittman has served as the statewide vice president of corporate college services and online education at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana since January 2013, and has been in a variety of leadership roles in the College at four Regions and the system office for the past 27 years. Ivy Tech is Indiana’s community college system, with 30 campuses in 14 regions. It is the state’s largest public postsecondary institution and the nation’s largest singly-accredited statewide community college system, annually serving nearly 200,000 students. Most recently, Pittman is responsible for the reorganization and development of a lean organization for delivery of Corporate College customized workforce training and services to business, industry and individuals throughout the state. He also led Ivy Tech Online as Vice President of Online Education, which represents the college’s statewide credit online and distance education programs. Pittman served as chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Wabash Valley Region for 11 years, and simultaneously worked as the statewide vice provost for distance education for three of the years he served as Chancellor. Under Pittman’s leadership, the college’s enrollment in distance education doubled from slightly more than 32,728 in 2008 to 65,470 in 2010. He also has served as the Campus President of the Southern Indiana Region, and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs of the Bloomington Region. Pittman was appointed to the State Workforce Innovation Council by Governor Pence in 2014. Pittman’s doctorate in educational leadership, administration and foundations is from Indiana State University. His master’s degree in human resource development is from Indiana State University, and his bachelor’s degree in business is from Indiana University.
