Clark, Campus Director of the Meramoc campus, reported an B*"'5®il enrollment as of Friday, September 10, of 2,039 students. With the addition of one ^•••''•IjSdM new building on the campus, this number can be accommodated. ^^^^^3 The f a c u l t y i n Biology have developed their ov/n worlcbook during tte summer WJ'BJWWBHM months, and hope to publish and sell it shortly. The auto-tutorial program has been w"&;^^P expanded to include 20 spaces in the laboratory, permitting additional programs to I I B If 1 B R H S M I I 6 • H H| 111 W& W H ffl| extend into this area and experiment. A non-transfer Communications Course is being offered for people who were not able to go d i r e c t l y into the regular English course. A Teaching Assistant v / i l ! work The Technical Programs on the i/ieramec campus have boon strengthfened, w i t h an approximate enrollment of 400-425 students. The library on the /.icrarnec campus has been enlarged by 25 spaces, giving a seating capacity of approximately 125 students. They have also included 20 study carrels for experimentation to ascertain the student habits of the students. 18 new staff members heve joined the ;/,eramcc staff this F a l l , 14 in instruction. Dr. Douglas F . Libby, J r . , Campus Director of the Florissant V a l l e y campus, reported a total of 1,000 returning students, and a total expected enrollment of 2,532 compered to 1,634 last year. Two-thirds of these are enrolled i n the d a y - t i m e program. The classroom u t i l i z a t i o n is approximately 75 percent as scheduled, w i t h most of the openings i n the evening o n l y . The General Education Program is similar to that offered at the other two campuses. Their existing technical education programs have a marked increase i n enrollment w i t h one new program being added - Law Enforcement. They have also added three new courses especially dosigned for the adults i n the community: Modern American N o v e l , Personal Finance, and Fiction s / r i t i n g . The Florissant V a l l e y 9/13/65 auto-tutorial laboratory w i l l run a f u l l session this yoar - 9 - • particularly for those students enrolled in Freshman Diology. M Dr. Libby also reported that the FVCC campus has moved from three divisional 9 groups to 7 this Fall, including a total of 55 faculty members - 16 new to the staff. H Dr. R. Board President Bastian informed the Board members that those Board members who were cbsent had notified her prior to the meeting that they concurred with this recorrrr.endation. 4.2 Status of Construction Projects on all Three Campuses of the JCD Vice President Robertson reported that the foundation construction for the first -= ' permenent buildings at the Forest Park campus had been started, and that alterations had been rr.cde on both the M.eramec and Florissant V a l l e y campuses. M r . Lcrry O ' N e i l l , Coordinator of Physical Facilities told the Board that the -i alterations at the Florissant V a l l e y campus had been completed, w i t h the exception of = that work to be done on the Student Center, which does not directly affect the educa- = tionol program. * consisted of a new building and additional library space. The alterations at the Kieramec campus have also been completed, which M r . C ' M e i l l also explained that there had been about a one-month delay in the construction at the Forest Park campus, due to some problems which were encountered when excavation was begun, in addition to minor delays due to the weather.
