How will the programme help?
The programme aims to help you understand
persisting pain and to introduce a
manageable exercise programme. It will also
help you to plan how to return to activities
that you have stopped. Although it is not
designed to cure your pain, most people
report that they improve.
To give us a chance to catch up and discuss
your progress, there is a review after the
programme (roughly at 3 months).
Each group comes back together for 2 hours.
Who will I see on the programme?
The majority of the programme will be run
by physiotherapists and physiotherapy
assistants.
The Programme
 Each group will have a maximum of 8
people
 There will be 6 weekly sessions
1600—1900

 We will notify you of any changes to this
proposed timetable
During the programme we plan to:
 Help you explore new ways of managing
persisting pain
 Improve your confidence
 Help you understand why pain persists
 Enjoy a better quality of life
 Increase your general fitness
 ·Reduce frustration and anxiety
How will we know if I have improved?
At the beginning and the end of the
programme we will use questionnaires and
activities to measure how you are doing.
What do I need to bring with me?
 Comfy clothes to exercise in
 Soft training shoes
 Any handouts you are given on the
programme.
 Glasses if you use them
 Any medication that you would normally
take during the day
Let us know if:
