Grade Point Average (GPA): A student’s grade point average is calculated by dividing the sum of earned quality points by the sum of attempted hours for all courses receiving a grade used in the calculating the GPA (see
above). Only work taken at STLCC is used in the GPA.
Repeated Courses: The grade earned in the most recent repeated course is used in the grade point average calculation.
Withdrawal and Grade Point Average Recalculation: All attempted coursework appears on the transcript, except those for which a full refund has been issued. If all requirements are not met, a grade of Incomplete becomes an F after one calendar year. Students may withdraw from a course up until the 12 th week of the regular semester or corresponding times during other terms. Following an absence from the college of 10 calendar years, a student may appeal for a recalculation of grade point average with academic forgiveness. All grades below C will be removed from the calculation of the grade point average. A student may petition for a program change with a grade point average recalculation only one time. All coursework not pertaining to the new program will be removed from the
calculation of the grade point average.
Transfer Credit: Accepted transfer credits are included in cumulative hours, but are not calculated in the grade point average.
