Dear Student
In addition to the information provided in the Guided Pathways booklet and the Taster Day letter,
you will need to be aware of the option blocks that subjects are in to help you make your final
decision.
All option subjects are taught in blocks meaning, for example, Block A lessons are taught at the
same time. For this reason you can only choose one subject from each block. You will see that our
more popular subjects are offered in more than one block. Some blocks will have the same subject
in more than once, allowing for setting to take place.
Please read the other side of this letter carefully before completing and returning it before the
deadline stated. You will also need to complete your college choice on this form too. More details
about this can be found in the Guided Pathways booklet. If you misplace this form before June,
copies are available to download on our school website.
Whilst we will do our absolute best to try and accommodate your preferences in terms of subjects
and college, due to fluctuations in demand and staffing capacity we may not always be able to give
you all of your first choices. To this end we also ask you to choose reserve subjects and a reserve
college.
More detailed information will be provided during the Guided Pathways Evening on Tuesday 8
March and senior staff will be on hand to answer any queries you might have. Alternatively, please

Your timetable will be ready for you when you start at North in September. I will contact you directly
in the unlikely event of us being unable to accommodate your first and reserve choices.
