Project RECY-CAR Market study of the vehicle recycling and analysis for the development of a recycling facility of shredded vehicle components. Introduction: (Explain the framework of the project and the problem to be solved) After the spare-parts recovery, the recycling process of vehicles consists mainly of shredding the components and landfilling. Lots of valuable materials are being currently buried, such as rubber, tire components, glass, a wide range of polymers, cables, small pieces of metal, fabrics, foams, etc. The CALAF GROUP aims to design and build a prototype plant in Spain for recycling of shredded vehicles, using automated mechanical equipment and machine vision solutions.
