Continuous Improvement
TheConstructionManagementProgram(CMGT)atBatonRougeCommunityCollege(BRCC)is
engagedincontinuousqualityimprovementguidedbytheCMGTprogramandtheCollege.The
programstrivestopreparestudentsforconstructionindustrycareersguidedbytheadviceofthe
CMGTAdvisoryCouncilandlocalemployers.
Goals and Objectives
Theprogram’sgoalsandobjectiveshavebeenestablishedwithassociatedassessmenttoolsthatare
usedtoprovideguidanceforprogramimprovement.Theyareasfollows:

haverequestedmoreafternoonand
eveningclassofferingsofcoursesat
the200levelandwehave
addressedthisbychangingcourse
schedulesforSpringandFall2016
semesters.
Additionally,studentshavemoved
toLSU’sCMprogrampriorto
receivingtheASDegreesfrom
BRCC.Wehaverecentlybeen
informedthatdataistobemade
availableastothenumberof
studentsthatchoosethispath.We
arealsoexploringthepossibilityof
‘reversetransfer’degreestogrant
thesestudentsASdegreesfrom
GraduationRates

Graduationheadcountshave
increasedfromtheinitialnumberof
13forthe2010-2011yearto28for

anticipatethisratewillremain
steadyorimprovewitheffortsto
improveretentionasnotedabove.
Localemployersaresupportiveof
BRCCCMGTstudents.Asthe
programmatures,moreemployers
aremadeawareoftheprogramas

thestudentsworkinginindustry
hiringBRCCCMGT
haveproventobehardworkingand
studentsforpart-timeand knowledgeableasevidencedin
full-timeemployment
employersurveys.Studentexit
opportunities
surveysindicateahighemployment
rateforstudentswhowillcontinue
theireducationandworkpart-time
aswellasthosewhohavesecured
full-timeemployment.

review.Thedataprovidedwasnot
accurateinsomeoftheareasbut
ProgramReviews
overalltheprogramisshowntobe
completed
improvinginstudentsuccess
(gradesandgraduation).

outcomeswererevised.Thecollege
iscurrentlyimplementing

coursesandprograms.

departmenteachsemester.The
CMGTprogramorganizedthefirst
annualnetworkingeventinthe
Spring2015semestertobring

theprogramtoemployersandto
allowstudentstheopportunityto
explorecareeroptionsandcurrent
opportunities.Theeventwasa
