Colleagues, We would like to announce that Carrie Romo, J.D., has been named Interim Director of the Texas Tech University Research Park. She will fill the interim role half time while continuing her current duties as a Senior Proposal Development Administrator with the Research Development Team. Carrie will work with the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), Office of Research Commercialization, the Research Park Board of Directors, Texas Tech University System universities, and entrepreneurial and other civic and professional business groups to help attract new clients and university-­‐affiliated business to the Research Park. She will work with the OVPR Director of Translational Research and Entrepreneurialism to encourage and host student entrepreneurial programs. Carrie also will help to develop guidelines for the Research Park, work with tenants to help define their needs and facilitate negotiation, preparation and closing of contracts with new tenants. Carrie received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, in 1998 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She worked in independent and hospital laboratories in Austin and Lubbock as a medical technologist until starting law school in 2002. She graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in May 2005 and began working at Timberlake, Weaver and Sharp, P.C. as an associate attorney. Her law practice primarily included transactional real estate law and document preparation, real property title exams, and estate and probate administration. Sincerely, Robert V.
