Clifton R. Musser Professor of Industrial Ecology, Professor of Chemical Engineering, Professor of Geology and Geophysics, and Director of the Center for Industrial Ecology
It has been my good fortune to work at Bell Laboratories and Yale University over the years and to be involved in research in astronomy, atmospheric chemistry, corrosion science, materials science, and industrial ecology. This talk will use some of the results of these studies to illustrate how interdisciplinary approaches to scientific problems are often successful in leading to useful results, some anticipated, some serendipitous.
