Rule: West Virginia Northern Community College is committed to creating a climate that is
conducive to learning. Solicitation of students for commercial purposes does not
contribute to a learning environment. Solicitation for commercial purposes, including
solicitation for credit cards, is prohibited in all College buildings and on all College
grounds. Solicitation for commercial purposes means selling or marketing items on
campus by private firms or individuals for purposes of making a profit. Exempted from
this rule are the College bookstore, vendors who provide goods or services necessary for
College operations, and vendors authorized to sell goods to students which are necessary
for the program of study provided that no entity may solicit credit cards to students on
campus.
