All parts of the writing process, including any writing exercises, the writing plan, rough draft peersharing, and the final draft will be considered when assigning the student’s final grade of record. 2) Homework reading assignments and the critical evaluations stemming from them, including homework evaluations and research, Blackboard posts, workshop assignments, group work and in-class quizzes. 3) Attendance and Participation: Students who are well-prepared for class activities and whose participation in class discussions effectively enhances the class will earn credit for their involvement. Students who are unprepared for class activities or do not effectively participate and those who are excessively absent, habitually late, or inattentive will be graded accordingly. We all make this class work effectively when working together. Your overall final grade of record may be raised as much as 1/2 grade up or lowered as much as 1 full grade by your overall performance on all homework assignments and by your in-class contributions. (See Items 2 & 3) CLASS POLICIES 1) 2) 3) Students absent more than 3 class meetings will be downgraded. Students absent more than 5 class meetings will be dropped. Students who fail to turn in homework assignments may have their grade in the class lowered as much as 1 full grade (see above). Late homework or Blackboard assignments, if accepted, will be downgraded. No more than 3 late homeworks will be accepted. If you are absent, homework is due upon your return to class. 4) All of the essays assigned must be turned in in order to pass the class. Late papers will not receive a passing grade if more than 3 calendar days late. 5) Plagiarism will result in an F paper and may result in dismissal or further disciplinary action. Do not send MS Works, or other formats ! Files I cannot open will not stop the “late” clock.
