Catalog Description
8 - Human Sexuality
3 units
Physiological and psychosocial aspects of sexual health in our contemporary society.
Understanding the interrelationship of attitude and behavior as it relates to sexual wellbeing and sexual integrity. May not receive credit if Psychology 8 or Health 8 has been
completed. 3 hours.

None.
Expected Student Outcome:
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
1.
describe society's stance on human sexuality from a historical perspective;
2.
list the functions and dysfunctions of the human reproductive systems;
3.
describe the normal development of intimacy and interpersonal relationships;
4.
explain the development of sexual identity;
5.
identify and evaluate the contraceptive methods;
6.
describe the normal birthing process;
7.
describe causes of diseases/disorders which affect the reproductive system;
8.
identify normal and atypical sexual behaviors;
9.
describe sexual development through the life cycle;
10.
identify causes and prevention of sexual abuses;
11.
explain the prevention of human immunodeficiency virus infection;
12.
describe effective steps towards clarifying own sexual values.
