Chabot College Fall 2002 Course Outline for Physical Education 2 GOLF COURSE PLAY - BEGINNING Catalog Description: PHED 2GPB – Golf Course Play - Beginning 1 unit This course is designed to give the student a continuation in the development of golf skills beyond the intermediate level. The student will learn advanced skills and rules, tournament formats, course etiquette, course management and the mental side of the game. Students will have the experience of playing on a variety of 18 hole golf courses in the bay area. The course will emphasize the index/handicap system of scoring and strategies in order to play competitive golf on an 18 hole golf course. 3 Hours per Week – Lab. 0.5 Hours per Week - Lecture Prerequisite Skills: None Recommendations: 1. Golf course experience highly recommended with a maximum index of 36 and/or an 18 hole maximum score of 115. 2. Pass skills and written tests on the first day of class.
