Role Summary/Purpose Internal
Create an engaging workforce of lab employees by providing strong
leadership, development and training plans to ensure an efficient
operation. Maintain customer service and relationships with internal and
external customers. Provide financial responsibility of the lab by
creating/executing the budget and sales opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities Internal
* Provide daily supervision of 5 lab employees
* Provide daily work direction, coaching and guiding; set
strategies/goals; improve professional development
* Develop short tem and long-term strategies to keep MCL cost
competitive and maintain highest level of customer satisfaction and
quality
* Identify training opportunities and maximize cross-functional
utilization of resources
* Verify methods, review controls, keep instruments in optimum
working condition* Work with customers to determine best techniques
for analysis
* Design experiments and develop methods to support new
materials/products
* As a clear thinker, able to handle multiple priorities in a changing
environment to achieve/sustain results
Qualifications/Requirements - * Prior direct lab management experience leading lab employees
Internal
* Minimum 5 years inorganic laboratory experience, including method
development and analytical techniques
* Bachelors in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy,
Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent required; masters degree or
higher preferred
* Possess strong interpersonal skills needed to motivate and create
engaging workforce
Desired Characteristics Internal
* Prior experience with ICP, ICP-MS, XRF, XRD, LECO and SEM
* Familiarity in dealing with refractory metals, phosphers, quartz and
glass
