In this role, the successful candidate will bring passion and determination to product development and complete work with perseverance and a sense of urgency leading cross-function project teams to meet business needs for incremental revenue, cost reduction, business continuity, and quality in a leading company where individual and team success are recognized and rewarded. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Ownership and accountability to innovate while maintaining a vision for products and projects. •Collaborate with all levels of the organization, and across functions, acting as a subject matter expert in film technologies. •Deliver results through statistical data analysis, lean and problem solving, in addition to creativity and the ability to collaborate and drive results across boundaries with speed. •Ideate and develop mastery through such work as market research, design and execution of experiments, benchmarking, test method development linked to performance in manufacturing and customer and end-user processes, analysis of suppliers and markets to identify trends and opportunities for marketplace advantage, as well as new product development, processes and services. •Act as a team role model of Avery Dennison’s Leadership Principles and positively influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals Position Requirements: REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: •Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or equivalent. •5-9+ years of industry experience. •Understanding of the different techniques to product films, including blown, cast, MDO and tenter, and how production techniques impact film properties. •Would be able to work with a film manufacturer to design new films. •Ability to formulate and select resins based on specific product performance requirements. •Ability to design product to achieve optimal cost and product performance with the experience to translate voice-of-customer into critical-to-quality parameters. •Ability to develop strong control plans to ensure consistent performance in customer and end user processes, in areas such as die cutting, dispensing and barrier properties.
