He is the co-author of the Canada chapter of The International Investigations Review (5th edition), published by Law Business Research Ltd. in July 2015. Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Jonathan was both a summer and articling student at the firm. Jonathan has been actively involved in matters concerning shareholder disputes, hostile takeover bids, regulatory investigations, class actions, franchise litigation, white collar crime and contractual disputes involving public companies. He also advises companies on domestic and foreign corruption, as well as a range of other compliance and regulatory matters. While in law school, Jonathan was awarded the David Sabbath Prize in Securities Regulation. Jonathan was actively involved with the Moot Court Program, Queen’s Legal Aid, and the Queen’s Law Journal. Jonathan competed in the Canadian Corporate and Securities Law Moot and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. Through Queen’s Legal Aid, Jonathan represented clients in a variety of settings including a trial before the Provincial Offences Court and a hearing before the Social Benefits Tribunal. Jonathan earned his B.Comm (Honours) with specialization in international management from the University of Ottawa. Prior to attending law school, Jonathan worked in several departments of the Federal Government, including the Department of Finance, and Public Works and Government Services Canada.
