PROGRAM
Step Out of the Classroom and Into a
Career in Technical Sales & Management.
We’re looking for driven, high-potential students interested in careers in sales and
management. Summit’s full-time, 13-week paid internship is designed to give you the
opportunity to experience every aspect of a successful sales organization. Over the
course of the summer you’ll jump right into roles within our organization and receive
mentoring every step of the way by industry experts in logistics, customer service, sales,
and management.

How your Internship Works:
• Learn logistics during warehouse training, which includes
shipping, receiving, and stocking.
Weeks 1-3:
• Fill orders to meet delivery schedules, support counter sales
associates, and gain wire management experience.
• Get introduced to Summit’s advanced systems platform.
• Begin your Summit University training to discover Summit’s
role as an electrical distributor and how we operate.
• Use your warehouse product knowledge during counter
sales training.
Weeks 4-11:
• Deal directly with customers, face-to-face.
• Work alongside counter sales mentors and take on a
variety of assignments.
• Continue your Summit University training.
• Move to inside sales as a customer service representative.
Weeks 12-13:
• Use your acquired product and sales experience to explore
industrial and commercial business.
• Attend outside sales calls with account managers and shadow
associates from project quotations.
• Interact directly with your operations manager, and your
service center leader about future opportunities.

distribution industry. Known for our rigorous training program and exacting employment standards,
our rotational internship is a summer-long interview between you and our leadership team where you’ll
discover whether you have what it takes to join the Summit family. Successful interns will engage in career
discussions with Summit leadership throughout the summer and may be offered full-time employment
shortly after the conclusion of the internship.
