Not Anymore: Title IX, Sexual Assault, & Violence Prevention Training (1:00 - 4:00 pm) Rm. 354 Federally-mandated training; facilitated by Malena Mayorga Not Anymore is an interactive online program designed to prevent sexual assault, dating and domestic violence and stalking on college campuses. It is required of all employees and students in order to meet Title IX mandates; this session is for anyone who has not yet completed the training. Ear buds will be provided. Cultural Awareness and Enrichment Religious Literacy: Responses to Paris and San Bernadino Rm. 804 Facilitated by Irene Plunkett As more and more of the political discourse centers around or alludes to religion, which in turn shapes both domestic and foreign policy, many Americans are at a distinct disadvantage. We often know relatively little of the specifics of our own religion, or of the role religion has played historically in our own country and educational system. We often know less about other religions. Such ignorance puts us at the mercy a media focused on sound bites and audience share. Using Stephen Prothero's book Religious Literacy: What Every American Needs to Know--And Doesn't, we will wade into the water. Resources for Students Students in Crisis, Oh My!: Chabot Mental Health Resources & Referral Process Rm. 405 Facilitated by Shauna Castro-McDaniel, Katie Messina, and Juztino Panella Through real life scenarios of staff encountering distressed students on campus, participants will develop skills to effectively connect students to mental health services. Participants will increase their comfort with initiating conversations about mental health support and leave the workshop with a clear understanding of the mental health resources and referral process at Chabot.
