Researcher for the E-CLIP research project (Electronic-Commerce
Legal Issues Platform). E-CLIP is a joint research program about
legal aspect of electronic commerce financed through the EU Esprit
program. The Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law
cooperates with GMD - National Research Center for Information
Technology (Germany), the Münster University (Germany), CRID
(Namur, Belgium), Queen Mary and Westfield College (London,
GBR) and the Ballearic University (Spain).
Researcher for the E-CLIP [1] research project (ElectronicCommerce Legal Issues Platform). E-CLIP is a joint research
program about legal aspect of electronic commerce financed
through the EU Esprit program. The Norwegian Research Center
for Computers and Law cooperates with GMD - National Research
Center for Information Technology (Germany), the Münster
University (Germany), CRID (Namur, Belgium), Queen Mary and
Westfield College (London, GBR) and the Ballearic University
(Spain).
Contracted for 4 years by the University of Oslo, NORWAY,
Faculty of Law at the Norwegian Research Center for Computers
and Law to complete a doctoral thesis on the subject:
“Jurisdictional and choice of law issues pursuant to EC law in
civil and commercial matters relating to libel in (tort, delict and
quasi delict) and outside of contract.”
Participant and speaker as researcher in several conferences on law
and information technology, e.g. the most recent:
 The Annual Nordic Conference on Computers and Law,
Oslo, NORWAY, 27th-28th September. My subject was
"jurisdictional issues pursuant to EC-law and the global
digital marketplace."
 E-contract conference, Brussels, BELGIUM, 18th-19th
October. My subject was "Alternative Dispute Resolution
and the European Consumer, a practical overview of the
regulatory framework."
 ECODIR-launching conference on Electronic consumer
dispute resolution, Brussels, BELGIUM, 26th October. My
subject was "Role and point of view of the UNIVERSITIES
as stakeholders" (The Cybertribunal, which the ECODIR
project is based on, was initiated by the University of
Montreal, while now the ECODIR consortium is
compounded by a multidisciplinary group in which several
universities take part).
 Nordisk NÄTVERKSMÖTE (Nordic Network meeting in
intellectual property) April 25 - 28 2002, Hanaholmens

The norm for developing the doctoral thesis is three years full time

Evaluation
and
dissemination:
Either a committee of three professors; two professors from The
Faculty of Law in Oslo, Norway, and one professor from a
university in one of the other Scandinavian countries, grade the
thesis, followed by an oral examination in front of the public. This
is compulsory as well as two public lectures related to the subject of
the dissertation. It is compulsory to publish the dissertation after it
has been graded and accepted by the examination committee. Or
the thesis can be published in three acknowledged Law Journals.

Professional working experience
Type of work: Various working experience and assignments for law
firms and companies in Norway, e.g. the law firm Arntzen,
Underland & Co (now named Arntzen de Besche [2]).
I have mainly been working on legal areas such as
 Norwegian and international contract law,
 copyright law,
 jurisdiction and choice of law pursuant to EC-law,
 law pursuant to ICT (information, communication and
technology).
