1. In this environment, the Windows machines are probably using WINS to locate
resources. UNIX cannot register with the WINS server. The administrator should
create a static mapping for each UNIX resource in the WINS table.
2. The technician should check the network services here. If the client node is
getting an address through APIPA, that would mean it is a DHCP client and could
not contact the DHCP server. That would be the first place to check.
