4th Annual University of Arizona Food Safety Conference Industry Leaders Discuss Most Pressing Research Needs Call for Abstracts: University of Arizona Food Safety Consortium Annual Conference Overview Posters for this year’s session should present current food safety related research and programs from the participants’ universities, preferably with an emphasis on the contribution of these programs to industry, public health, and farm‐to‐fork food safety improvements. The conference will be held Friday, October 11th, 2013 at the Omni Tucson Resort in Tucson, AZ. Awards! First ($250), Second ($175), and Third ($125) place awards will be given to the top posters. Students (undergraduate and graduate) and postdoctoral researchers who wish to be considered for the poster award will also be asked to do a short (~5 minute) oral presentation of their poster topic to all conference attendees. Guidelines for submitting an abstract  The abstract submission deadline is Monday, September 16th, 2013. Participants will be notified of acceptance within one week of this deadline. Late submissions will be accepted as space allows, however may not be included in Proceedings.  To ensure broad participation, each attendee may submit no more than two abstracts for the poster or poster/presentation session. Only a single poster/presentation will be accepted for each participant.  Abstracts are limited to 250 words and should be formatted for inclusion in Proceedings. Do not use all capital letters and be sure to italicize all Latin names.  Presenting students/postdoctoral scholars must be an author on the presented poster, and should be first author for posters which are to be considered for awards.  If you are a presenting student/postdoctoral scholar who would like to be considered for the poster award, please indicate this in your submission.  Submissions should include the poster title, names of all authors, in order, and indicate the presenting author.  The abstract should include an overview of the topic discussed, any relevant findings and the long term impact of the work.  All correspondence regarding abstract submission will be returned to the email address from which the initial submission is received, and should be the presenting author’s email.  Abstracts and all accepted posters must be submitted in English.  Please indicate the size of your poster in your submission. Display boards are 4’x8’, making this the maximum poster size.  Abstracts should be submitted to Alexandra Armstrong, Ph.D. at aledar@email.arizona.edu. Questions may also be directed to this address.  Presentations occur throughout the day, so if you cannot attend the full session, please include this information in your submission. Your presentation time will be confirmed prior to the conference.
