Husky Ambassadors Letter from the Advisor Dear Applicant, Thank you for expressing interest in the Husky Ambassadors! The Husky Ambassador organization was created in 1985 to advance the mission of Bloomsburg University by improving relationships between the students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, and residents of the greater Bloomsburg community. Husky Ambassadors come from many different backgrounds and participate in a variety of campus activities and organizations. The one idea that unites all Husky Ambassadors is the common belief that our involvement in, and loyalty to, Bloomsburg University does not end upon graduation. As alumni of Bloomsburg University, we will continue in our efforts to support the university and its mission. The Husky Ambassadors serve many different roles and are very active on and off campus. The Ambassadors help convey the needs and sentiment of the student body to the Alumni and friends of Bloomsburg University. The Ambassadors are directly involved with ProfessionalU Initiatives, Homecoming and Alumni Weekend, Celebrity Artist Series, Admissions Open House Tours, Foundation Scholarship Receptions, and various other University Advancement and Alumni Affairs events. The recruitment process has several components designed to help us find prospective members who we believe can contribute to the organization right away. We are looking for students who are in good academic standing, possess excellent communication skills, leadership potential, and express a sincere dedication to and interest in Bloomsburg University. Attached is an application for membership which includes a basic information sheet and essay questions. Please return the completed application along with your typed responses to the essay questions. Also, ask a faculty or staff member to agree to serve as a personal character reference and sign the referral portion of the application. Completed Applications can be sent to nconroy@bloomu.edu or you can drop them off in person at the Fenstemaker Alumni House. The application and essays will be used to determine if a personal interview will be granted. If you should have any questions concerning Husky Ambassadors or the recruitment process, please feel free to contact me at 389-4215. On behalf of all the current and past Ambassadors we thank you for your interest and wish you the best of luck throughout the recruitment process!
