Associate Sales Manager
The Advisor Business Development Group is a 100 person strong team and the growth engine for
Ameriprise Financial Advisors. Ameriprise Financial has approximately 10,000 financial advisors who help
clients plan to achieve their dreams and financial goals and a dedicated corporate staff focused on driving
profitable growth in the employee and franchise advisor platforms.
The Minneapolis-based Associate Sales Manager will partner with Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and
Regional Financial Advice Sales Consultants (FASC) to drive high value client acquisition (HVCA),
financial planning and GDC growth, through the development of region plans and proactive coaching to
advisors.
Responsibilities
 Work with advisors and staff to drive our digital marketing programs (Advisor websites, Marketing
on Demand and Go Social).
 Run systematic campaigns to drive client acquisition and financial planning results via digital
strategies.
 Partner with the marketing organization to identify high propensity advisor populations that would
benefit from expanded marketing opportunities.
 Prep Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Financial Advice Regional Sales Consultants
(FASCs) for advisor 1:1’s. Including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, etc.
 Provide coaching and guidance on marketing, sales, and financial planning program
initiatives. Advise appropriate leaders and team members on development and implementation
of programs to ensure engagement of field sales force.
 Help organize and facilitate web based training for advisors and staff on our digital marketing
programs and financial advice topics. Schedule meetings, send out meeting invitations, set-up
web ex, prepare materials and send to invitees and help present materials during the training.
 Partner with advisors to drive the confident retirement approach and leverage the confident
retirement tool through serving as a primary resource for tool education and awareness.
 Respond to requests received via e-mail and phone from Field Leaders, Regional Sales Directors
(RSD) and desk resources regarding various programs, messages, and materials related to client
acquisition, financial planning, and sales strategies.
 Utilize a computer-based tracking system to monitor incoming requests and responses. Refer
product specific type calls and issues to the functional subject matter experts on internal product
support desks.
Required Qualifications
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact
effectively with advisors over the phone







Strong attention to detail
Previous experience working collaboratively with a wide variety of partners
Dynamic interpersonal and consultative skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications
 Financial Planning graduate who has passed CFP exam
