Assisted with a study examining habitat selection by rodents in the Thunder Bay area and
at the Walker Bay Research Camp in Nunavut. Learned the skills required to live trap a
variety of rodent species and determine foraging strategies.

Teaching Assistant Fall 2011
Lakehead University
Course: Comparative Animal Physiology
Introduced students to some of the laboratory procedures used in physiology, and
answered questions about the experiments being conducted and the format of reports.

Course: Animal Biology
Provided students with an overview of the major groups of animals using short
introductions and dissections. Answered questions concerning the diverse anatomy and
life history traits of Kingdom Animalia.

Limnology Intern, May to August 2009 and 2010
Trent University
Examined the effects of two species of nanoparticles on the nutrient fluxes at the
sediment-water interface. Completed a stream survey of over 50 streams across Southern
Ontario measuring physical and chemical characteristics.
