Action on Minutes
The minutes from the Second Meeting, September 16, 2008, were approved as
presented.
Task Force to Review
Baccalaureate Goals
It was announced the Provost’s Office is seeking nominations and volunteers to
join a task force to review the baccalaureate goals.
CUAE Representative
The college is still seeking nominations for a representative for the Committee
on the Undergraduate Academic Environment.
AACSB Peer Review
Team Visit
The committee discussed the October 19-21 visit of the accreditation team. S.
Wakefield distributed materials related to the visit. Members will attend the
session on Assurance of Learning.
Certificate of
Undergraduate Study in
Entrepreneurship
The Management Department has decided to table its proposal for a Certificate
of Undergraduate Study in Entrepreneurship.
College Requirement
A revision to the Undergraduate Catalog was approved, deleting the phrase
referencing the 50% non-business course requirement. (See page 1 of 1)
UBUS 485/585
A motion to raise the credit hours for UBUS 485/585 (experiential learning
project course) from 3 to 4 credit hours failed for lack of a second.
ACCY Items
The committee discussed catalog revisions submitted by the Accountancy
Department: ACCY 473 credit hours, addition of equivalent courses to satisfy
the MAS Phase One core, and changes to restate graduate course prerequisites
to textual descriptions. Further discussion will continue at the next meeting.
OMIS 338
A proposal to revise the prerequisite for OMIS 338 was discussed. Discussion
will continue at the next meeting.
B.S. in Business
Administration
Revisions to the major in business administration were discussed which would
add an emphasis in international business and one in entrepreneurship.
Discussion will continue at the next meeting.
MGMT items
A new course proposal was discussed as well as revisions to several
undergraduate course prerequisites. Further discussion will continue at the
next meeting.
Undergraduate
Certificate in Service
Management
Because the Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Service Management
contains a marketing component, a notation referencing the certificate within
the Marketing catalog section was proposed. Discussion will continue at the
next meeting.
