Zerull Absent A. Aprahamian Guest C. Mooney (MGMT) Action on Minutes The minutes from the Third Meeting, October 7, 2008, were approved as presented. AACSB Peer Review Team Visit The committee was reminded of the October 19-21 visit of the accreditation team. Members will meet with the PRT on October 20 to discuss assurance of learning. CUAE Representative The college is still seeking nominations for a representative for the Committee on the Undergraduate Academic Environment. ACCY Items The committee approved catalog revisions submitted by the Accountancy Department: ACCY 473 credit hours, addition of equivalent courses to satisfy the MAS Phase One core, and changes to restate graduate course prerequisites to textual descriptions. (See pages 1-6 of 9) OMIS 338 A revision to the prerequisite for OMIS 338 was approved. (See page 9 of 9) B.S. in Business Administration Discussion continued from the last meeting on a proposal which would restructure the business administration major. Three emphases would be available: general business, international business, or entrepreneurship. After lengthy discussion, a motion to approve the proposal failed. The committee recommended additional input be obtained from College Senate--strategic view and resource dimension for the program--with further discussion to take place on the composition of the major. MGMT Items C. Mooney attended the meeting to answer questions from the committee related to the new course proposal, MGMT 327. After discussion, the committee approved the new course, its inclusion as an elective in the organizational management emphasis, and revisions to several management course prerequisites. (See pages 7-8 of 9) Undergraduate Certificate in Service Management (MKTG) The committee approved a notation referencing the Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Service Management be placed within the Marketing catalog section since the certificate contains a marketing component. (See page 8 of 9) MKTG Items Marketing introduced revisions to prerequisites for MKTG 425 and MKTG 443 as well as requiring a C or better in Marketing prerequisites. Further discussion will take place at the next meeting.
