The book is very well written, and I am more than happy to talk about any questions you may have from the reading outside of class. • The first quiz will be on January 25. There will be three questions and a 30 minute time limit, covering material from Chapter 1 and Sections 2.1 and 2.2 • Homework from Chapter 1 will be due on January 25 as well. Please be legible and write neatly. • The homework for Chapter 2 is the following. Remember, problems in bold are to be handed in—you are still responsible for the other problems. • Homework for Chapter 2 2.1: 1,2,3,7,9,13,14,15,32,35,40,41,42 2.2: 2,4,5,7,9,10,13,17,19,24,25,28,37,38,43,44 2.3: 1,2,6,7,13,19,21,22,27,28,30,32,34,37,41,42,48 2.4: 1,3,4,6,7,12,13,15,16-25,27,28,34,40,43,45 I anticipate this homework to be due on February 3 • Our first computer lab is scheduled for February 1. By registering in this class you will have an account created on the math server. If you have never used your math account, you will need to access it (this should take less than 5 minutes). Please go to the computing lab (in the Math Tutoring Center) before February 1 to access your account. The assistants there should have the necessary information for you.
