I. The Graduate Council minutes are available in the Graduate School office and on the Graduate
School website at www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool.
II. A motion was made by Jorgelina Orfila and seconded by Stephen Cook to approve the minutes
from the 9th meeting of the Graduate Council held on Thursday, June 20, 2013. The Graduate
Council approved these minutes.
III. Students admitted to Doctoral Candidacy.
The following students were admitted to candidacy for the doctorate on the recommendation of
their departments. A motion was made by Ann Hawkins and seconded by Stephen Cook with a
small correction made to the list. The Graduate Council approved these candidates.

IV. Academic Requests
The following Graduate Certificate came with a motion of approval and seconded from the
Academic Program Committee. The Graduate Council unanimously approved.
RAWLS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics
V. Announcements
Dr. Casadonte announced that there will be a group of about 15 Brazilian students here on campus
in mid-July.
VI. Old Business
The Council still needs to establish an RCR sub-committee meeting with Dom Casadonte, Clifford
Fedler, Ann Hawkins and Aliza Wong.
VI. New Business
Dom gave an update regarding the Recruiter program which starts tomorrow on June 21, 2013.
The Admissions Application fee has been dropped down to $65.00.
The Graduate School will host 4 Graduate Expo’s a year, with two in the Fall, one in Spring, and 1
one in the Summer.
The Graduate School will host their first Graduate Advisor’s Q/A roundtable on July 18, 2013.

Ram Iyer asked if the Graduate School would consider letting the departments give a demonstration
on how they are successful in recruiting students. This would be helpful so the Graduate school
could give helpful suggestions to other departments.
Eileen Johnson motioned to adjourn the Graduate Council meeting and Jorgelina Orfila seconded
the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:17 p.m.
