In the first two fields, please provide comments on the strengths and weaknesses of the application’s
ability to address each of the CALUE Undergraduate Scholar Project Funding review criterion
individually. Additional explanations for each criterion are included to assist you in determining those
strengths and weaknesses.
You are permitted to consider other relevant criteria when assessing the application, but it must be
explicitly stated. Furthermore, please explain the relevance of the additional criteria to the field of study
on which you choose to base your assessment.
Finally, CALUE asks that you write a brief summary statement explaining your overall rating of the
application. The statement should express your thoughts on how well the application meets both criteria
and provide other constructive feedback.
PLEASE NOTE: Your comments will be returned to the applicant (omitting personal identification
information) so please be constructive in your delivery.
Review Criteria:
1. What is the impact of undergraduate student’s contributions to the project?
Based on the information presented on the application, how much of an additional impact on the
overall project will be provided by funding this researcher? Additionally, is sufficient
explanation provided to support the capacity for reportable results to be produced in a timeframe
that aligns with the 2017 TTU Undergraduate Research Conference abstract submission deadline
(early-to-mid January 2017)?
2. What cognitive, intellectual, and/or experiential growth opportunities will the student gain
from participation in the project?
For example, will the researcher gain experience using specialized lab equipment or
implementing discipline specific theories and practices that will prepare them for future
educational, professional, or research opportunities?
