Introduction
In the face of Mounting criticisms from many sid'3s, corporate psychophants still laud the benign effects of our society's modern industrial
organhation--giantism.
They explain that since the theoretically abstract
and real:Lstically impossible economic model of pure or perfect competition
has never existed

cannot then be a goal worthy of attainment.
Instead,
they arfue pragmatically that ours is A.n irriustrial structure of imperfect

to price competition, tho primary benefit of the free-market system.
On the contrary, it is just hecause of the direct relationship behveen indust,r-ial concentration and the ability to administer price and to
