Served as mentor to three first-year administrators (i.e. superintendent, principals) 2006-2008.
Completed a school district reorganization feasibility study for the Sherrard and Orion School
Districts 2006-2007. Presented results to collective boards of education and the public.
Completed a reorganization survey to residents of the Sherrard and Orion districts 2007-2008.

Initiated Early Childhood At-Risk Program for 3 – 5 year olds
Initiated a four-hour kindergarten program that resulted in savings to the district while providing
more contact hours for pupils.
Initiated the Reading Recovery Program as part of Title I services.
Initiated the start of middle-school concepts for Silvis Jr. High 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Initiated before and after school “Y” program for elementary students.
Steered committee in the passage of two Education Fund referenda in 1988 and 1992.
Initiated a cooperative bussing of special education pupils for neighboring districts at a savings to
those districts.
Successfully negotiated teacher contracts for 16 years without attorneys at the table.
Nominated for Illinois Superintendent of the Year to represent Blackhawk Division of IASA for
2004-2005.
