interactive laser videodiscs. Grant award $4.1 million.
8/87 - 4/88 Instructor, Florida State University, Education Department, Secondary Science Methods.
Developed and delivered classroom instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in physics,
chemistry, and biology. Presented and demonstrated methods, techniques, and motivational strategies for
teaching science to students in grades 7 through 12.
6/87 - 10/87 Instructional Designer, Florida Supreme Court, Multiple Offenders DWI Curriculum.
Researched, designed, developed, and wrote a 10-module, interactive curriculum for use with individuals
convicted of multiple driving offenses while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Topics included
physiological and psychological addiction, sociological aspects, and treatment and recovery options.
2/87 - 8/87 Instructional Designer, Florida Department of Education grant, Improved Science and
Mathematics Instruction Through Computer Applications. Researched, designed, developed, and wrote 16
user manuals for commercially produced software for middle school/high school students. Areas included
biology, chemistry, physics, and problem-solving mathematics. Coordinated, selected, and supervised the
integration of graphics into manuals.

5/86 - 2/87 Instructional Designer/Quality Control Specialist, Center for Educational Technology, Florida
State University, Tallahassee, Florida. Evaluated, approved, revised, and oversaw revision of many of the
570 computer-based and 30 paper-based modules for the US Army's Job Skills Education Program. Trained
new design and quality control staff. Incorporated required client revisions. Established and enforced
instructional quality control guidelines. Reviewed and revised measurement instruments. Systematically
researched, designed, and wrote Computer-Based Instruction using the PLATO and MicroTICCIT computer
systems. Reviewed on-line lessons for consistency in instructional quality.
4/86 - 9/86 Coordinator, Summer Inservice Institutes Grant, Leon County Schools, Tallahassee, Florida.
Coordinated all aspects of a $134,000 grant from the State of Florida to provide intensive content training for
200 teachers (grades K-12) in 8 different subject areas. Responsibilities included writing the initial proposal,
project management, selection and assignment of participants, development of curriculum, delivery of
presentations, timely submission of budget and payrolls, analysis of evaluations, and development of final
report to the Department of Education.
11/85 - 4/86 Administrative Assistant, Management Information Services, Leon County Schools,
Tallahassee, Florida. Developed plans and procedures for set-up and implementation of a county-wide
Computer Information Center. Reorganized and directed changes in entire filing system for the division of
Management Information Services. Coordinated division-wide organization for preparation of Department of
Education performance and compliance audit. Standardized all procedure manuals and streamlined reporting
system for the division. Designed and developed a charge-back algorithm for all aspects of data processing
services. Created Internal Management Directives and wrote policy for approval by the School Board.
8/84 - 11/85 Legal Assistant, Leon County Schools, Tallahassee, Florida. Reorganized and updated a 200page policy handbook. Researched law and policies concerned with all levels of educational functions of a
county school system. Prepared memorandums and briefs which supported the views and objectives of the
staff attorney and the administrative staff. Participated on the screening and selection committee for the new
staff attorney.
3/84 - 8/84 Coordinator, Summer Inservice Institutes Grant, Leon County Schools, Tallahassee, Florida.
Coordinated a $94,000 grant from the State of Florida to provide intensive content training for 90 science
teachers (K-12). Organized and developed curriculum with university professors for six institutes.
Supervised four graduate students.
6/83 - 3/84 Research Assistant, Department of Biological Science, Florida State University, Tallahassee,
Florida. Conducted field studies for the Environmental Protection Agency in the Gulf of Mexico in
conjunction with the Florida State University Marine Laboratory. Collected, analyzed, and reported data
associated with marine organisms in various environments. Set up experimental laboratory situations to
further determine specific aspects of field studies. Interpreted and organized
data for final reports.
8/72 - 1/83 Teacher, Duval County Schools, Jacksonville, Florida. Developed and delivered classroom
instruction for 11 years. Instruction included lecture, laboratory experiments and research, and field
experiences for science courses. Teaching assignments for five years in senior high included anatomy and
