Refer to notes and conditions on page #1 of this document. Fabrication Types General Notes 1 - This signage document consists of 24 pages. All page are to be read as one document. These sole purpose of this document is to show preliminary design concepts and design intent of sign types only. 2 - Prior to fabrication and/or installation of any of these sign types the user of this document must arrange for the fabrication of one full size sample of each sign type along with documentation demonstrating the intended use for review and approval by SFU facilities management along with all authorities having jurisdiction plus a professional Code Consultant, Architect and Structural Engineer each registered in the Province of British Columbia.. 3 - Anyone using and/or relying on any information shown in this document is to ensure prior to placing any work in hand, that all such information is reviewed and approved by all authorities having jurisdiction plus a professional Code Consultant, Architect and Structural Engineer registered in the Province of British Columbia. 4 - Discovery .1 and the Chemistry building are examples where similar signs have been installed. These signs exist as fabrication standards for like work. 5 - When a sign type is composed of more than one Sign Part additional layers of acrylic must be added to the sign parts (of lesser thickness) to ensure that the faces of each sign apart are equal and flush with the adjacent sign part. 6 - Sign types applied to glazing must be either: a - backed up on opposing face of glazing where indicated, by a sign type of equal size, shape and location, or b - where a back up sign is not required, a layer of opaque black vinyl of equal size, shape and location is to be applied to the first surface of the glazing to which the room sign is then mounted. 7 - Paint, Ink and acrylic colours : a - Black b - White c - Red - to match Pantone 187C. d - Silver Grey - to match silver anodized aluminum. e - Blue - to match the existing Blue Station units. FAB 00 10 - Attachments for all signs are to be designed, reviewed and approved by a Structural Engineer experienced in similar work before fabrication and post installation. 11 - The user of this document and their engineer remain responsible for the Code complience design, engineering, fabrication and installation of all signs.
