Tasks
Responsible for supervising five social workers in the Child Protective Services division and providing oversight of the
intake/screening activities. Supervisor ensures that the appropriate information is obtained by social workers so that the
appropriate screening decisions can be made. Supervisor also ensures that the social workers complete the necessary
documentation related to the intake/screening process. May serve as the afterhours on-call supervisor. Must possess
knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Must possess considerable knowledge of social
work principles, techniques and practices, including broad knowledge of child welfare services and issues, human
development and family functioning. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to teach, plan, organize
and schedule management functions are essential. Must have the ability to work with a diverse population.
Requirements
Requires an MSW degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or a BSW
degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in
human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's
degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or
a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates with bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.
Special Requirement: Requires a valid North Carolina driver's license, vehicle and acceptable driving record.
