CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES SOCIAL WORKER
Description of Work: The primary function of this position is to provide direct and indirect social work services to the families of Davie County. Responsible for receiving and conducting in-depth investigations and MRS assessments of alleged abuse, neglect, and/or dependency of minor children; assess cases with family-centered focus and provide supportive interventions to prevent family deterioration. Assist families in developing strength-based family services plans, refer to community agencies and coordinate service delivery. This worker may also be responsible for providing In Home Family Services and assessing family dynamics and needs for intervention and/or treatment; involvement in custody and foster care situations; preparing for and testifying in court hearings, and providing crisis intervention, etc. Flexible working hours are required. Worker will also be responsible for rotating with other staff members and performing on call responsibilities.
Minimum Training and Experience: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare
Collaborative; or graduation from a four- year college or university with work experience in social work or related human services field.
